In 1999, the government approved the project to bring the water from the dam to Jaipur City. But due to financial restrictions, the project was completed in 2009. In May 2023, the water supply from the dam increased from 600 MLD to 816 MLD.
However, Farmers who depended on the Bisalpur water for irrigation strongly opposed the project. Unfortunately, on 13 June 2005, during a protest against the diversion of Bisalpur water to Jaipur, five farmers lost their lives due to gunfire.
